Add a new level of control to Ableton Live with Transport Control. Drop the plugin into an empty MIDI track in Live for instant on-screen access to 25 core features via three floating toolbars. Along with covering most of the playback controls of Live, Transport Control also adds new buttons for pause, fast forward/rewind, and loop start/end. Customize your workflow even further with the built-in MIDI mapping system that lets you trigger any toolbar button with MIDI hardware.
- Adds three floating toolbars to Ableton Live
- Includes new controls for Pause, FF/RW, and Loop Start/End
- Time display switchable between Bars/Beats and Min/Sec
- Map any toolbar button to MIDI hardware button or key
Three floating toolbars form the core of Transport Control. Two of these toolbars control playback features while the third shows the current time.
The Transport toolbar packs a lot into a small space, combining the usual playback controls with new ones. New dedicated buttons for pause, fast forward, and rewind have all been designed to be flexible and effective with the goal of speeding up your workflow.
The Location toolbar offers further control over the deeper features of Live. Buttons for Looping, Cue Points, and Quantize are all organized in a compact area for quick access. New controls for punching in loop start and end points on-the-fly add even more flexibility.
When working in Arrangement view, the floating Time Display lets you know where you are at in either Bars/Beats or Minutes/Seconds. Options are also provided for changing the color, size, and format (minutes/seconds or beats/bars) of the time display.
The floating toolbars are only half of the equation of Transport Control. A custom designed MIDI mapping system lets you quickly and easily map any hardware MIDI trigger to any button on the toolbars. This MIDI mapping bypasses Ableton’s built-in system to go beyond previous limitations of Live.
Take a look below at an example of an off-the-shelf MIDI controller mapped to Transport Control. This is just one of the infinite ways you can use Transport Control with low-cost MIDI hardware to bring a new level of control to Live.
Through a combination of floating toolbars and MIDI mapping, Transport Control brings a serious amount of customizability to Live. With this new access to core features and brand new ones, it’s time to start using Live the way that works best for you.
Transport Control comes in free and paid versions. The free “Lite” version includes the Transport and Time toolbars while the Full version adds the Location toolbar (Looping, Cue Points, and Quantize) and full MIDI mapping capabilities. Transport Control requires Ableton Live 9 or 10 with the Max for Live Add-on.
